We have a real treat lined up for our New Years Eve party this year - live music with the excellent July Julay! Influenced by Merengue, Cumbia and Salsa, July is a highly acclaimed and award nominated Latin vocalist. Regular appearances at Carnival Latino London and throughout Europe has made July Julay a very popular artist among the Latin American music community - July is sure to get the party going!

Popular Sheffield band The Seven Shades will be returning again to La Mama Wednesday November 7th. Expect to hear Swing Jazz, Bossa Nova and oodles of the 'old classics', including the likes of Cole Porter, Louie Armstrong, Miles Davis, Antonio Jobim, Wes Montgomery and Duke Ellington.

The Seven Shades are a trio consisting of John Draper (piano and vocals), Ricardo Moreira on drums & percussion and Stephen Mosel (double bass). Performance starts 7pm...don't miss out! xx

Charity fundraising event Sunday 7th October!

We are delighted to be holding a charity fundraising event on Sunday 7th October. The night will be a celebration of our Latin roots with traditional Chilean food and live music served up throughout the evening!

All money raised during the night will be donated to the Just Giving Charity and The Sheffield Children's Hospital. Both charities will be represented on the evening by local charity fundraiser and close friend of La Mama, Fabian Cruz.

We have a fantastic raffle lined up with prizes and donations from many local Sheffield businesses.

If you would like to support this extremely worthwhile cause tickets for the evening are £10 which includes a Tapas buffet and a variety of entertainment, including dancing and music. Tickets are available from the restaurant. The event starts at 6pm.

Sheffield Food Festival...


The Sheffield Food Festival returns to the city during the weekend of September 14th - 16th. Designed to encourage and promote all that is culinary about Sheffield, La Mama will be contributing one event to the weekend long programme:

September 15th - Children's cooking class - all children and parents are welcome to learn how to cook a choice of traditional Latin Tapas dishes. Children will be taught how to create and cook a choice of dishes from our menu - free for all the family - from 12pm.

Charity fundraising this Saturday 25th August!


We are delighted to be hosting a charity fundraising event this forthcoming Saturday evening. We are supporting close friend and Olympic torch bearer Fabian Cruz with all money raised on the night being given to Fabians chosen charity The Sheffield Children's Hospital.

Fabian will make an Olympic themed appearance on the night with torch! It is also the last opportunity to view the popular Olympic themed artwork of local artist Stephen John Hopkins.

Olympic inspired art exhibit Thursday July 26th...

 
La Mama has something different lined up for you this evening! We welcome a new up and coming Sheffield artist, Steve Hopkins, to exhibit his latest work that features his interpretation of the British Olympic Games 2012. Tonight's exhibit is on the eve of the Olympic Games, starting 7pm.

La Mama supports Sheffield Children's Hospital!

La Mama is extremely proud to be supporting close friend Fabian Cruz this month as he completes Sheffield Half Marathon, in support of Sheffield Children's Hospital. Fabian will be running with the assistance of Team Super Pollo, with all money raised being donated to help provide specialist equipment, fund new research and provide new facilities for the Children's Hospital.
